DISCOVER OUR STORY

Jelu Estate was founded in 2002 and is located in San Juan, which is approximately 100 miles North of Mendoza. Duncan Killiner, the co-founder also makes the wine and speaks often of the distinctive climate of the Zonda Valley.

Our wines

OUR GRAPES COME FROM THE ZONDA & CALINGASTA VALLEYS IN THE PROVINCE OF SAN JUAN. OUR VINEYARDS ARE LOCATED BETWEEN 900-& 1500- METERS ABOVE SEA LEVEL AND ARE PLANTED ON OLD RIVER TERRACES.THE BEST GRAPES ARE HANDPICKED AND FERMENTED SEPERATELY

Jelu Estate

Handpicked grapes from the Calingasta, Neuquen and Zonda Valleys, are fermented separately by traditional small batch winemaking. These wines showcase the unique terroirs of Argentina.

X Wines

The MALBEC X CRIOLLA and the X BLEND are hand picked and blended together from different high altitude vineyards. Showing the Cordillera freshness and intensity.

Cerro AR

The SOUL of the MOUNTAIN. These wines are the most natural expression of high mountain wines. NO S02 & NO FILTRATION define this natural wine style.

RIGHT COMBINATIONS ARE MAGICAL….

Syrah

Black, purple in colour with aromas of cinnamon, black pepper and red berries. A full-bodied wine with rich texture and ripe tannins. Ideal for cold winter nights and ideally paired with Wild gamey meats such as venison, hearty stews, mushrooms or ripe cheeses.

Malbec

Malbec (cofermented with tannat) Shows Dark purple colour with blackberry and wild herbal notes typical of the Thyme and lavender that grow in the vineyards. Ripe black plum flavours are balanced by juicy acidity…This allows us to pair with fresh tomato dishes, all grilled meats, and especially flame grilled vegetables such as eggplant or pumpkin

Torrontés

Our Torrontés (Riojano) is pale green in colour and shows exotic aromas of lychees and grapefruits. The palate is rich with hints of nectarines and green apples. The floral aromas and weighty palate allow this wine to combine with many flavours…especially Korean, Peruvian and Cantonese cuisine.

Chenin Blanc

Pale white in colour, this wine has aromas of lemon, limes and stonefruit. Light in body but with crisp refreshing acidity and a pinch of Cordillera minerality or salt.
Ideal with everything from Sushi and Asian cusines to traditional European white meats or pasta dishes with cream sauces.

Pinot Noir

Dark brick red in colour. Pinot Noir from Patagonia shows complex aromas of plums, forest fruits and mushrooms. A Soft, velvety texture with ripe tannins. Served chilled this wine will show more fresh fruit aromas, while served at room
temperature will accent its texture and earthy notes.

Criolla

Bright Cherry red in colour, Criolla has fresh aromas of red berries and mountain flowers. Soft juicy berry fruit flavours with light tanins. Make this light red wine ideal to be served chilled on its own or with
antipasti and tapas.
